Where Frustration Turns into Curiosity

Joya's Tutoring & Consulting Hub, LLC was started to help middle and high school students who feel frustrated with STEM subjects but who still show real curiosity about the world around them.

We want every student to realize something simple: scientists and engineers are just curious kids who grew up. They're not a different kind of person – and your student is capable of the exact same thing.

My name is Christopher Joya and I'm a NYS-certified science educator with over a decade of experience in and out of the classroom – from middle school general science to the rigors of High School Biology and Chemistry.

Some of my students call me a "cool nerd" who knows a bit too much about science – but my real passion isn't just the facts. It's the "aha! moment on my students' faces when they figure something out.

At the Hub, we don't just teach to the test. We focus on each student's individual needs, every single session – whether that's Algebra 1 fundamentals, Regents prep, or building the study skills that make everything else easier.

Our goal is to spark curiosity, and help students see how science and math show up in their everyday lives.
